Minku, founded in 2011, specializes in clothing and leather goods for men and women. Each Minku item carries subtle cultural codes of Nigerian life. Aso-oke, a fabric woven on hand looms in the founder's home region of South-Western Nigeria, plays protagonist in several of the items: whether re-imagined as a men's hoodie, or lining the interior of the brand's notebooks and leather accessories. Minku founder Kunmi was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She studied computer science at Virginia Tech (Master of Science) and at Howard Univeristy (Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude). As a high school student in Lagos, she won the fine art prize every year. Ever as a child she painted and imagined most of the journeys, that later she fulfilled.
She won prestigeous prizes in art, design, photography (Finalist in the Doug Moran Prize) and painting.
Her Art is deverse from highly deep and serious images to highly fun and relaxing ones.
Her influences are from the Renessance artists, 20th century as Picasso, Mattise, Monet.
She uses a lot of traditional methods in oils, pastels, encaustic to modern use of tablets.
Her original work is widely collected in public and private collections.

Her motto is “See Act” as once you see within the image you like to communicate, you just need to do it with mediums that suits your expression.
