You can mine it or get it by selling goods, just like a currency, and you can use it to buy blocks, too. Each Emerald is worth 1 Bit. Every time you deposit your emeralds onto the enchanted chests (Our ATMs in the server) a bitcoin transfer will be sent to you using the Xapo API.
