Sashimi is usually the first course in the Japanese meal. Sashimi is often the first course in a formal Japanese meal, but also often served as a main course with rice and Miso soup in separate bowls. Many Japanese people believe that sashimi, traditionally considered the finest dish in Japanese cuisine, should be eaten before other strong flavours affect the palate. Sashimi represents, in a way, the Japanese cultural appreciation of subtlety. The finer sensation can vary from salmon (firm but melt-in-your-mouth) to squid (slippery but firm), as well as everything in between.

The idea of ProductofItaly.com was born while visiting and studying in the US. As all Italians abroad I was looking for traditional food and specialties from my Country, my region, my city. I didn’t like what I found. I was able to find the Italian flag printed on so many grocery products, but after a closer look at the label, ingredients and the production site there was nothing Italian in those products other than the flag on the packaging. The project started around these simple core values: - bringing the most authentic Italian specialty products made in Italy by Italian farmers and producers using only the finest Italian ingredients; - delivering uncompromising customer service, ensuring product and food quality excellence. The personal relationship with our producers as well as our connections with small and medium high quality firms from all across Italy is a guarantee for you of high quality food products of a certified origin. Bardo Farm is an off-the-grid family farm focusing on permaculture using a balance of livestock, gardening, maple sugaring, foraging, forestry, and more. We raise a broad range of animals and grow a variety of vegetables. Currently, our pigs and chickens rule the farm (the chickens in numbers, the pigs in attitude). But we are always open to introducing new animals and projects. Our gardens are organic. Our animals are free range, woodland- and pasture-raised, cage-free, and people-friendly due to the attention and love we give them. Our goal is to raise happy, healthy animals, and we are always seeking ways to improve our methods and their quality of life. ‘Bardo’ is a Tibetan word meaning ‘between lives’, and it has been the goal of the Bardo Project to provide a place where people can pause, reconsider their values and their strengths, and start moving in a direction that is aligned with those. Bardo is owned and operated by Neil & Emily Smith and Ian & Jody Underwood. The four of us moved to New Hampshire in September 2007. We bought a large property with an off-the-grid house so we could pursue our own “bardo”. We have since started breeding pigs and rabbits and raising calves, turkeys, and chickens.
