Business Description

A bit of history...

Nardi & Banti Imballaggi srl was founded in 1947 by Adone Nardi and Agostino Banti as a timber mill in a densely-wooded area. The company focused on milling until the early '70s when they started to produce wooden pallets for packaging. In the following decade the production increased year after year thanks also to the arrival of Adone’s son, Romano Nardi, who managed the company's sales. During the '80s the company expanded its activities to focus on the sales and marketing of pallets and began to use timber sourced outside of Italy in its manufacturing process.

In 1989 Adone passed the reigns of the company to his son Romano Nardi. Since then the company has been greatly transformed: it uses less workers and also shifted its focus to a different type of product and client base, moving from standardized products for big industries, to customized products for small and medium businesses.

In the following years the company continued to evolve, introducing the sale and repair of used pallets, and at the same time ceasing it's milling activities, turning to semi-finished boards it obtained from other Italian and foreign companies to use in its manufacturing. Towards the end of the '90s Osvalda Banti, daughter of the founder Agostino, left the company to make way for her young nephew Gianni Nardi.

From 2004 to 2005 substantial investments enabled the company to open a new headquarters in Altopascio (Lucca).

In 2006 the company installed a wood-drying kiln that sterilizes the products as per IPPC-ISPM15 requirements, enabling it to then obtain FITOK IT-09-020 certification.

In 2008 the company was reorganized and took on it's current name of “Nardi & Banti Imballaggi s.r.l”.

Between the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2014 the company gave increasing importance to the role of the internet in sales, and increased its presence on social networks. It also updated their machinery, replacing almost everything, from their fork-lifts to their saws. The new saws transformed the production, by greatly increasing the precision and speed of their manufacturing.

2015 was a very difficult year for the market, but by being the first Italian company to dive into the world of e-commerce and offer on-line sales of packing products, the company hopes to widen its market to provide the packaging that will protect the goods of more and more people throughout the world.

A Passion for Wood

We try daily to express our fondness for our profession and field, by choosing to work with the best suppliers, by constantly renewing and updating our production, and by using modern technology to work with wood, a material that at first glance seems so simple and straightforward, but is infinitely complex. We pay great attention to the details – because otherwise perfection will remain out of reach.

Our Values

Customers first: we will do our best to assist you, listen to your needs and concerns, and follow you every step of the way. We will always be there.

That is why we have created a number of different ways to facilitate communication: you can call on our Helpline, write us an email, contact us by Skype, social networks, or at any moment use the chat-line on our website.

We aim for clarity in presenting our products and guarantee our prices. There are no tricks nor scams. When we created our website Imballoinlegno.it we aimed to provide more than just a showcase of our products, as is common practice in our field, where customers loose time and patience writing emails to inquire about products and prices. On our website you can custom-tailor your own packaging on-line at any time, any day of the week. That is the reason why we chose to implement a new, quick, user-friendly and state-of-the-art digital platform. We also offer a number of payment options: you can pay by credit card, Paypal, bank transfer, COD, and even Bitcoin, the newest entry.

Our motto is "simple and efficient", and this is why we created Imballoinlegno.it. We hope this helps us become your trusted partner for all of your wood packaging needs.
