51% Attack
What is 51% Attack?
When a group of miners controls more than 50% of the network’s hash rate, they launch a 51% attack on a cryptocurrency blockchain. The controlling parties have the ability to change the blockchain since they control 51% of the network’s nodes.
51% of attacks are transient occurrences, meaning it is impossible to identify them afterward unless they are noticed at the time of the attack.
