Negative Volume Index (NVI)

What is Negative Volume Index (NVI)?

Paul Dysart created the Negative Volume Index (NVI), a cumulative indicator that takes into account volume changes to determine when smart money is trading. The NVI makes the assumption that the smart money will cause price changes that need less volume than the other investors.
