What is Off-Ledger Currency?
Any currency used by a nation-state that is NOT stored on a distributed ledger, such as a blockchain, is referred to as an “off-ledger currency”. Off-ledger currencies aren’t created especially for blockchains, yet they may nevertheless be utilized in them because to their practicality and widespread popularity. For instance, the blockchains of Ripple and Stellar may be able to transfer and exchange off-ledger currencies globally through their respective bridge currencies, XRP and XLM.
