Traditional avatars in Metaverse are either 2D (only two-dimensional, so they are simply flat) or 3D (human-like models, more advanced in terms of possible customization). 

Immersive avatars are the next level of human representation in metaverses, as with the help of VR they can use motion sensors or even body suits that are copying users’ movements into the metaverse, making their experience even more hyperreal.
