Token standards are a set of accepted guidelines for how cryptocurrency tokens should be developed, behave, and function on specific blockchain technology. Token standards need to be widely used in order to be effective. Their rules cannot be considered “standards” without being adopted, as standards are those that are typically obeyed by a broad variety of people.
