ERC-827

What is ERC-827?

The Ethereum network has created a number of token standards to support the network’s many token contracts, one of which is ERC-827. The stable token ERC-20 on the Ethereum network has been updated to ERC-827.

The success of a recipient contract mechanism would be used to execute transactions utilizing this special token standard. In addition to the standard ERC20 activities, it has transferAndCall, transferFromAndCall, and approveAndCall functionalities. They all have a _data parameter in addition to the standard ERC 20 parameters. It functions similarly to ERC 677 in that it also uses a fallback mechanism; if the function provided in the _data argument returns true, the transaction is started.
