Extended Reality (XR)
The term “extended reality” (or “XR”) refers to computer-generated settings that combine the actual and virtual worlds or provide consumers with a fully virtual experience. Virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) all come together to form XR. By combining all of these factors, XR can open up a wide range of new possibilities in both physical and virtual settings.
Not only does XR encompass VR, AR, and MR, but also other upcoming immersive technologies that allow for an extension of reality while combining virtual imagery with physical components. These include, for instance, the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G network, and artificial intelligence (AI). The complete range of actual and virtual settings are covered by XR.
