What is Financial Action Task Force (FATF)?

The Financial Action Task Force was established in 1989 at the G7’s proposal to provide guidelines for combating money laundering. It is also known by its French name, Groupe d’action financière. Its authority was expanded to cover the funding for terrorism in 2001. T Raja Kumar is the president of the organization as of 2022, and its headquarters are in Paris, France.
