What is Banking Secrecy Act (BSA)?

The BSA, also referred to as Banking Secrecy Act requires numerous U.S. financial institutions, including “money services businesses,” (or MSB) to comply with anti-money laundering regulations. Businesses that deal in cryptocurrency may be considered money transmitters, a kind of MSB, under the BSA.
