A fractional-algorithmic stablecoin has some of its supply algorithmically stabilized and some of it collateralized, such as USDC. In contrast to entirely algorithmic stablecoins with no backing, the fractional approach helps to maintain peg stability for the stablecoin and may be utilized to protect the peg during black swan situations.
