Parachains are customized, project-specific blockchains that are connected to the Polkadot (DOT) and Kusama (KSM) networks. The main blockchain, known as the Relay Chain, is regarded as the brain of the Polkadot and Kusama networks. Parachains can be tailored for a wide range of use cases and feed into them.
