Permissioned Ledger

What is Permissioned Ledger?

A permissioned ledger is a closed-source distributed ledger technology (DLT) variation, which requires authorization before use or activity validation on the network. This feature sets them apart from open networks like the blockchains of Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are accessible to everyone and don’t require authorization in advance. Organizations or consortiums that need access to privileged private information outside of the public domain should use permissioned ledgers.
