Replay Attack

What is Replay Attack

Replay attacks include the attacker sending the victim the exact same message that was previously used in the victim’s communication. Since the communication is correctly encrypted, the recipient may see it as a legitimate request and take the intruder’s instructions.

The attacker may have previously eavesdropped on a message between two parties or he may be familiar with the message format from earlier interactions with one of the parties. This message might include a secret key of some sort and serve as an authentication method.
