Ring Signature

What is Ring Signature

A ring signature is a sort of digital signature used in cryptography that can be executed by any user within a group of users who are all in possession of the same key. A message bearing a ring signature is thus approved by someone from a specific group of people. It should be computationally impossible to ascertain which of the group members’ keys was used to form the signature, which is one of the security features of a ring signature.

An anonymous signature from “a high-ranking White House official”, for example, might be provided using a ring signature without indicating which individual signed the communication.
