Delisting

What is Delisting?

Delisting is the process of removing listed security from a stock exchange. Delisting securities can happen voluntarily or involuntarily and often happens when a business shuts down, files for bankruptcy, merges, doesn’t comply with listing criteria or decides to go private.

Delisting often indicates that a stock has fallen short of the exchange’s standards.
