Micro Cap

What is Micro Cap?

A company having a publicly traded stock and a market capitalization between $50 million and $300 million is considered to have a micro-cap stock. Micro-cap equities are inherently riskier than mid- or large-cap stocks since they are more volatile than large-cap firms.

Micro-cap corporations are valued in the market at a greater level than nano-cap firms, but their market capitalization is smaller than that of small, mid-sized, big, and mega-cap firms. Stock prices are not necessarily greater for corporations with larger market capitalizations than for those with smaller market caps.
