The “Direct-to-Avatar” (D2A) business model is emerging in the metaverse and is focused on sending new products to consumers’ digital twins, which are their own avatars. D2A avoids conventional marketing by using in-game personas to promote virtual goods, physical goods, or real-world events.
Although it can seem contradictory, D2A is a fast-expanding market with a rising sense of connection to buy digital things that might or might not have analogs in the physical world. Brands may promote V2V, P2V, and V2P services using D2A.
