State Channel
What is State Channel
State channels, sometimes known as “off-chain” transactions, are a method through which users do business with one another directly outside of the blockchain with little or no reliance on “on-chain” processes. Votes cast on the District Registry, for instance, might be updated in a state channel and broadcast to the Ethereum network only after all the votes have been tallied. Developers can now shift a greater amount of computations off-chain as a result.
